The Parasol Ladies is our most popular batik wall hanging. Made by drawing the images onto the fabric with hot wax that acts as a barrier to colour, the fabric is then dipped into dye and dried before the wax is picked off.

This fabric has been dyed in natural indigo and initially this dye will come off on hands and clothing. It is therefore important to wash this fabric until the water runs clear before using it in a cool wash, to stabilise the colour.
